Cheers for Volunteers: Comcast Employees Spend a Day at Peter Kirk Elementary

Volunteerism being one of the guiding principles of Patch.com, we periodically tip our hat to those who donate service to the community, as did more than two dozen of employees of Comcast recently at .

As part of the 10^th "Comcast Cares Day,” employees of the company's Redmond Field Fulfillment Office turned out Saturday to haul and spread mulch, landscape and otherwise beautify the Norkirk Neighborhood school.

Across the state and country, more than 62,000 Comcast volunteers participated in this annual day of service, which according to the company is one of the largest single days of corporate volunteer service in the nation.

Here in Kirkland, the Comcast employees were assisted by members of the Peter Kirk PTSA in moving and spreading a small “mountain” of mulch and planting new shrubs and grass.
