Kirkland Performance Center Just Wants to Be Liked

An anonymous donor is giving KPC $3 for every person who "likes" Kirkland's great music and theater venue on Facebook. Offer runs through first week of May.

A generous anonymous donor is offering $3 for every person who โ€œlikesโ€ on Facebook the , the nonprofit group and venue that brings music and theater to the city.

So the KPC is asking its friends and supporters to visit its fan page and click on that button.

โ€œWe have a donor who is interested in social networking as an opportunity to spread the word,โ€ said Jenn Bassman, KPC marketing director. โ€œWeโ€™ve had about 200 new fans in the last two weeks.โ€

The original offer extended through this month, but Bassman said the donor has extended it through the first week of May.

The 402-seat center, which was built with $5.8 million in contributions from nearly 1,000 donors, first raised the curtains in June 1998. Its mission is to โ€œprovide cultural enrichment by offering a home for the presentation, support and promotion of the performing arts.โ€
