Kirkland Police Reports for Feb. 18-23

Cops deal with cases involving a stolen purse, a bike, a car, car parts -- and shoplifted underwear.

The following are selected reports from the Kirkland Police Department from Feb. 18-23.

Feb. 18

  • A 52-year-old Snohomish woman reported that sometime between noon and 1:30 p.m. someone had stolen her purse that was hanging on the unlocked back door of a salon on Market Street. She told police she lost about $15o in cash, two credit cards, her driverโ€™s license and three checkbooks. She advised that she had canceled her credit cards.
  • A white Trek off-road model bicycle was stolen from the rear ground-floor deck of a residence on 130th Court in the Totem Lake area, according to its owner, a 47-year-old woman who lives at the residence. No serial number as available.
  • Police confiscated 14.4 grams of marijuana from a 21-year-old man from Seattle who was pulled over for a traffic issue on 128th Street in north Juanita. He was cited for possession of a controlled substance and released.

Feb. 21

  • Two neighboring businesses in the Totem Lake area reported break-ins some time between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., one with just a fence cut and nothing missing and the other, an auto repair shop, with a storage trailer forced open and about $1,400 worth of car parts stolen. There was no information on suspects.

Feb. 22

  • A 1993 beige Honda Accord was stolen in front of the residence on Sixth Avenue South in Houghton of a 64-year-old man, some time between 7 p.m. and 6:45 a.m., the man reported. He also lost a toolbox and tools. While taking the report, a police officer spotted and recovered in front of a neighboring residence a Subaru Legacy reported stolen in Seattle.

Feb. 23

  • Staff at the Costco store on Rose Hill detained a 40-year-old Redmond woman after she allegedly put three pieces of underwear in her purse and walked out the front door without paying. Police cited her for third-degree theft and trespassing and released her.
