Kirkland Resident Victim of Fatal Skydiving Accident

Glen Leland Hobbes Jr., 27, has been identified as the skydiver who died Friday, May 31, in Snohomish while skydiving with friends.

A 27 year-old Kirkland man has been identified as the victim of a fatal Friday skydiving accidentย at Harvey Field in Snohomish.

Snohomish County Medical Examinerโ€™s Office identified the skydiverย as Glen Leland Hobbs, Jr., of Kirkland, WA.ย 

The MEโ€™s Office confirmed that the cause of death wasย โ€œintracranial hemorrhage with pelvic and extremity fractures due to blunt impact to the head and extremities.โ€ย 

Hobbes had been skydiving with a group of people, but the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said it wasย not clear if he was part of a group that hired out a company to coordinate the dive.ย 

Witnesses verified that Hobbes deployed his parachute, but came in too fast when he landed.ย  Emergency aid was called and arrived aroundย 4 p.m. Friday, May 31.ย 

Hobbes was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. The attached video of a dive was uploaded to YouTube by Hobbes recently.
