Kirkland Resident Victim of Fatal Skydiving Accident

A 27 year-old Kirkland man has been identified as the victim of a fatal Friday skydiving accident at Harvey Field in Snohomish.

Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the skydiver as Glen Leland Hobbs, Jr., of Kirkland, WA. 

The ME’s Office confirmed that the cause of death was “intracranial hemorrhage with pelvic and extremity fractures due to blunt impact to the head and extremities.” 

Hobbes had been skydiving with a group of people, but the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said it was not clear if he was part of a group that hired out a company to coordinate the dive. 

Witnesses verified that Hobbes deployed his parachute, but came in too fast when he landed.  Emergency aid was called and arrived around 4 p.m. Friday, May 31. 

Hobbes was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. The attached video of a dive was uploaded to YouTube by Hobbes recently.
