PET of the WEEK: Cuddly Cat Mr. Roo
Handsome red tabby is super affectionate and needs a welcoming home.
Roo is a handsome 7-year-old red mackerel tabby, a sweet cat who cannot resist attention and explodes into satisfied purrs when he gets it.
For the sake of explanation, a mackerel tabby pattern consists of vertical, gently curving stripes on the side of the body. The stripes are narrow and may be continuous or broken into bars and spots on the flanks and stomach. Roo sports some very fine markings on his gorgeous reddish-orange fur, as well as the classic "M" mark on his forehead - a distinctive feature of most tabby cats.
Roo was returned to , a no-kill shelter in Houghton, through no fault of his own. His owner was traveling a lot and didn't feel that Roo was deserving the care and attention that he deserved.

Roo is absolutely one of the sweetest cats you could ever have the pleasure of meeting. He's quiet at first, but extremely affectionate and loves attention and cuddling. He'd rather hug and be hugged than play with toys.
He's also a smart cat with intelligent eyes, appearing as though he understands every word. This is a cat that actually responds to his name when called.

Roo lived with another cat and a Labrador retriever in his previous home and would probably do fine with older children. If you're looking for a super friendly cat, seeย www.meowcatrescue.orgย or callย 425-822-6369.
