Pet of the Week: Affectionate Amelia

Amelia is a spunky young lady, five years old, bright-eyed, bushy tailed and just as happy as can be. 

She walks around one of the free-roaming rooms at the shelter in Houghton chirping, chattering and purring. She's usually the first to greet visitors and just waits for a good head scratch and back rub. She definitely prefers human interaction over toys -- a girl in search of love and affection for sure.

Amelia and her sister were found in a cardboard box as kittens. They were recently returned to MEOW because their owner travels a lot and didn't feel the cats were receiving the care and attention they deserve. The owner lovingly describes Amelia as active, curious, friendly and very affectionate. Amelia is fond of sitting at the window and chattering at the world outside. 

She does very well with other cats and would probably be fine with children as well. The volunteers at MEOW Cat Rescue would love to see Amelia find a home for the holidays. She's healthy, up-to-date on vaccinations, micro-chipped an all.
