The late model vehicle appears to have been been abandoned after the accident. No one associated with the accident was on the scene Sunday morning at about 9 a.m. when two police cruisers arrived to secure the area, closing the right-hand southbound lane of 98th Avenue by marking it with flares.

From skid marks at the scene it appears that the driver was northound on 98th at a high rate of speed just north of Forbes Creek Drive and lost control, sliding off the roadway and across the two soutbound lanes of 98th, the car ending up in dense blackberry bushes on the edge of the park.

The front passenger side window of the car was missing. An officer on the scene said the police had just arrived and did not know yet what had happened.

Kirkland Patch will update the story as soon as details are available.
