Three Kirkland Students Chosen for Aerospace Scholars Program
Two juniors from Lake Washington High and one from Juanita High could earn a summer residency at the Museum of Flight.
Two Lake Washington High School students and one from Juanita High have been accepted for the Washington Aerospace Scholars, a distance-learning program with NASA-designed curriculum about space exporation, the space shuttle, space stations, the moon and Mars.
Jessica Dunsmore of and Reily Blackner and Robert Krossa of are among 287 juniors from Washington who will participate in the fifth year of the program. ย
Through May they must complete 10 lessons on aerospace topics, submitting math solutions, quizzes, essays and graphics. The final project on a topic they each must select will combine an essay and a graphic.

Up to 160 of the top students, based on their Phase One scores, will be invited to a summer residency at Seattleโs Museum of Flightโwhich is now attempting to secure a retired space shuttle for its collectionโwith all expenses paid.
