TRAFFIC ALERT: Wednesday Market Means Partial Closure of Park Lane

Kirkland’s Wednesday Market starts its 2011 season on June 1 along Park Lane downtown, and the city is advising drivers that part of the street will be temporarily closed to vehicles.

Park Lane will be closed Wednesday between Lake Street and Main Street from 10 a.m. to aproximately 9 p.m. That will leave only a one-block stretch of that short street open to traffic, between Main and 3rd Street.

The Wednesday Market, hosted by the Kirkland Downtown Association, can draw more than 2,000 visitors each week. A farmers market with booths offering not only produce but also flowers, vegetable plant starts, arts and crafts and prepared foods,  it will be open from 2 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday, June 1 through September 28.
