Trellis Hires Bin GM as Food and Beverage Director

, the farm-to-table inspired restaurant in the downtown, has hired as food and beverage director the former general manager of another highly regarded Kirkland restaurant, .

Darren Nicholas will take on Trellis’ 200-plus wine list and help plan the 90-seat bar and restaurant’s season-driven menu, which focuses on local, small-scale, artisan products.

“Darren brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge in the food and beverage industry, and we’re very excited to have him on board at Trellis,” Les Utley, Heathman general manager, said in a press release. “His strong background and passion for hospitality provide a great addition to our team of accomplished professionals. We look forward to his leadership as he takes the dining experience to an even higher level of enjoyment for our customers.”

Before directing hospitality and communications as GM at Bin, a restaurant at Carillon Point’s , Nicholas was manager of Yarrow Bay Grill and Beach Cafe there.

He’ll now work with , whose wine country-inspired menu is planned around local produce, much of it grown on his 10-acre garden at South 47 farm in Woodinville.
