  • Where/When: 8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 at the .
  • Why Go: Join the KPC this Saturday for a world premiere that celebrates the royalty inside us all. Odissi Dance choreographer Dr. Ratna Roy and Hindustani vocalist Srivani Jade tell the true stories of Meera Bai, poetess and saint, and Rani Lakshmibai, warrior Queen of Jhansi, through music and dance.
  • Cost: Tickets range between $15 and $20.

  • Where/When: 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13 at in Kirkland.
  • Why Go: Join Parklane Gallery as they transform their Kirkland gallery into a Parisian salon of the 19th century. Over 35 gallery artists will fill the walls with beautiful art of varied styles. The Artist Reception on Friday is your chance to meet the artists and ask any questions you may have.
  • Cost: Free.



  • Where/When: 6-8:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13 at the .
  • Why Go: Neal Fryett presents new photographic work in the Kirkland Arts Center Galleryโ€™s first exhibition of 2012. The tangram, a dissection puzzle comprised of seven parts, serves as the foundation for Fryettโ€™s imagesโ€”basic geometric shapes that when arranged and rearranged become a study in still life, balance, and history.
  • Cost: Free to all with drinks and food provided.

  • Where/When: 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 at NE 120th St & Juanita Dr NE in Kirkland (just below the Plaza Garcia Restaurant).
  • Why Go: If exercise and fresh air are on your New Year's list of resolutions, then the Finn Hill Alliance has got just the thing for you. Join them this Saturday to help plant 675 trees in the eastern portion of the Juanita Woodlands. That's the area that was cleared by volunteers last November. Now it's time to finish the job.
