• Thurston County Fairgrounds Secures Over $1.25 Million for New Agricultural Center (thurstontalk.com) — Thurston County is investing over $1.25 million in a new 20,000-square-foot evacuation and agricultural center at the Thurston County Fairgrounds in Lacey, replacing aging barns and boosting emergency preparedness for livestock. The year-round facility will also expand space for youth agriculture programs and community events, strengthening both local safety and the agricultural economy for residents across the area.
   

• Two Thurston County men appear on federal charges for brutal assault at JBLM in June (thenewstribune.com) — Two men from Lacey are facing federal charges after investigators linked them to a violent June assault and theft of military gear at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, then traced them to a Lacey residence. Authorities say they recovered weapons, military equipment, explosives, cash, and Nazi and white supremacist materials from the home, while stressing the men remain presumed innocent pending trial.
