City Of Lakewood Plans 25th Birthday Party, Other Summer Events
The city's birthday is just one of many celebrations Lakewood has planned for this summer. Here's a few to look forward to.

LAKEWOOD, WA — The City of Lakewood is turning 25, and it's planning a number of exciting events to celebrate.

City of Lakewood’s 25th Anniversary Celebration
Perhaps the biggest event of the summer will be a 25th anniversary "birthday party" for the city, set for Sept. 18 at Colonial Plaza in downtown. The party will run from 2 to 8:30 p.m., and will feature live entertainment, food — and an opportunity to meet with city leaders and other VIP guests.

Drive-In Movies at Fort Steilacoom Park
A Lakewood tradition, Drive-In Movie at Fort Steilacoom Park will resume later this month with a showing of Wonder Woman 1984 on July 30. In August, they'll be showing School of Rock and Remember the Titans.
National Night Out
National Night Out is an opportunity for community members to meet and mingle with first responders. This year's night out will be held Aug. 3 at Harry Todd Park from 3 to 6 p.m.
Lakewood Farmers Market
If you haven't made it out yet, there are still plenty of opportunities to visit the Lakewood Farmers Market. The Market's 2021 season began back on May 21, but runs all the way through September 24. The Market opens every Friday at Fort Steilacoom Park from 2 to 6:30 p.m.
Summer Nights At the Pavilion
The Summer Nights At the Pavillion concert series just kicked off last Thursday, but there are still a half dozen more concerts to go. This week's show will feature the swing band Good Co, but there are different bands lined up for each week, culminating in the August 26 performance by Eagles Tribute Band, Victims of Love.
