• Director of Tacoma pot shop robbery where employee was killed pleads guilty (thenewstribune.com) — A Lakewood teenager has been sentenced to just over 10 years in state custody for firing gunshots inside Lakewood’s B&I Public Marketplace, injuring a bystander and another man. The broader court roundup also details guilty pleas and sentences in separate Tacoma robbery and homicide cases, highlighting how Pierce County judges are handling youth and adult offenders involved in serious violent crimes.
   

• Washington State Patrol trooper injured in head-on collision (fox13seattle.com) — A Washington State Patrol sergeant suffered minor injuries after a texting driver crossed the center line and hit his cruiser head-on in Lakewood Wednesday morning. First responders had to free the trapped sergeant from his patrol car before taking him to the hospital, while the pickup driver was uninjured. Investigators have not yet decided whether to file charges.
