I-5 Closures Near Lacey And DuPont Begin Sunday
The State Department of Transportation is advising commuters to find alternate routes or plan ahead for longer trips.
DUPONT, WA — The Washington State Department of Transportation is warning commuters about a pair of brief lane closures along I-5 this weekend.
According to WSDOT, Sunday is forecasted to be just dry enough for its crews to pave over potholes in two separate spots along the highway, one near DuPont, the other near Lacey.

- One lane of northbound I-5 will be closed near the Nisqually River Bridge in Thurston County from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
- One lane of northbound I-5 will be closed near the Steilacoom-DuPont Road interchange in Dupont from 8 a.m. to noon.
WSDOT engineers say they expect the closures to cause minor backups through the morning, and ask drivers to plan ahead for a longer trip if they're passing through the area.
