Lakewood Announces Community Cleanup Early Next Month

The city says this event will be useful, but also strictly regulated-- because the spring cleanup turned into a bit of a mess.

LAKEWOOD, WA — Got any extra junk lying around you want to ditch? Well, Lakewood has just the event for you.

The City of Lakewood has announced another Community Cleanup next month, and is inviting the community to come down and drop off trash— as long as they follow some stricter guidelines to keep the event moving.

The event will be held at 3869 94th Street SW, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6 and Sunday, Nov. 7.

According to the city, the last Community Cleanup in Spring was pretty painful, so they'll be strictly enforcing some new rules to get cars in and out as quickly as possible.

If you can't wait till November, you can also use the Tacoma Transfer Station, which just opened to Lakewood residents. The transfer station had previously been restricted to residents of Tacoma, but now allows all Pierce County residents to drop off trash, yard waste, and recyclables.
