Lakewood To Celebrate 25th Anniversary This Saturday

Hard to believe, but the City of Lakewood is just 25 years old. Here's how to get in on it's quarter-century birthday bash.

LAKEWOOD, WA — The City of Lakewood is turning 25 this year, and will be celebrating this Saturday, with a party and street festival from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m at Colonial Plaza.

The party had been set for last weekend, but the stormy weather forced the city to postpone the event. The Lakewood Farmers Market also elected to cancel, rather than face the gusty winds and heavy rain.

Fortunately, the storm has since passed and the party is back on: Organizers say it will feature all kinds of family fun, including food trucks, performances from Thailand, Mexico, Korea, and Guam. Art from the city's 25th anniversary Art Contest will be on display, and it'll all cap off with a performance from R&B group, Chapter 5.
