Lakewood, JBLM Get Snow Overnight

The National Weather Service is forecasting an accumulation of about a half an inch today.

It came while everyone was sleeping, but Lakewood and Joint Base Lewis-McChord did welcome snow overnight.

These pictures from the Washington State Department of Transportation show the white stuff coming down along Interstate 5.

  • Today: A chance of snow showers before 10am, then a chance of rain and snow showers. Snow level rising to 600 feet. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. South southwest wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
  • Tonight: Rain and snow showers, mainly after 10pm. Snow level 500 feet. Low around 32. South wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
