Man Charged With Threatening To Blow Up Lakewood Department of Corrections Office
Emil Herman Haag, 52, allegedly placed a fake bomb in the lobby of the South Tacoma Way building, and Lakewood Municipal Court was next on his list. He was charged last week in Pierce County Superior Court.
A 52-year-old man was charged with intidimidation with an explosive after he allegedly placed a fake bomb in the lobby of the Department of Corrections' Lakewood office.
Emil Herman Haag was charged with intimidation with an explosive on Monday, and his bail was set at $250,000.
According to court papers, Lakewood Police were called to the DOC office in the 10100 block of South Tacoma Way around 7 a.m., last Friday for a report of a bomb that workers spotted in the lobby.

After arriving, officers observed the device and called in the bomb squad. The devie turned out to be fake, but it "appeared real, complete with wires, shrapnel and what appeared to be a detonator," according to court papers. "Two other similar devices were located buried in the ground outside the office."
Prosecutors state that Haag, who used to be under DOC supervision and had been kicked out of the DOC building the day before, approached employees during the investigation.

"Haag told employees he planted the devices and said the next time he goes to Lakewood Muncipal Court, he will bring dynamite and 'blow the f--- place up,'" court papers state.
His next scheduled court appearance is Jan. 14, and his trial is scheduled to get underway Feb. 19.
