Man Injured by Lightning While Using Weed-Eater Near Bonney Lake

Local medic aides responded to a report of a man struck by lightning this morning near the Tehaleh development on 198th and Cascadia Boulevard in Bonney Lake.

Here's what the crew posted on the East Pierce Firefighters IAFF Local 3520 Facebook page:

At 0813 Hrs East Pierce Firefighters were dispatched to a lightning injury. Units told it was a male in his 20's who was using weed-eater in a field. Dont believe he was struck, just nearby. He was evaluated and transported to Good Sam in good condition. Its a good reminder, that when you see lightning or hear thunder to move indoors. Stay safe!
