Multi-Vehicle Rollover Closes Spanaway Loop Road
A large collision closed a significant portion of Spanaway Lake road midday Wednesday, with deputies asking drivers to avoid the area.
SPANAWAY, WA — Drivers heading through Spanaway are being asked to consider alternate routes or prepare for backups after a major collision on Spanaway Loop Road S Wednesday morning.
Update, 3:49 p.m.: the road has since been reopened.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, deputies are responding to a three-vehicle rollover crash which has closed Spanaway Loop Road S from Military Road S through 116th St S.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area for the near future as first responders try to clear the scene.
According to the sheriff's department, two passengers were trapped inside their vehicle following the crash, but have since been extricated by Central Pierce Fire & Rescue. In total, there were five occupants inside the three involved vehicles, all of whom are either being treated at the crash site or being rushed to nearby hospitals for more extensive treatment.
