New Chambers Creek Trail Connects Lakewood To University Place
Crews have put the finishing touches on a new bridge, completing a new trail between Lakewood and University Place.

LAKEWOOD, WA — Looking to get out and enjoy the fall? Well there's a new way to do just that.
This week crews put the finishing touches on a bridge in Chambers Creek Regional Park, completing a trail that stretches all the way from Lakewood to University Place. The trail, which has been in the works since 2013, came to fruition thanks to an "overwhelmingly positive" flood of feedback from community members, who wanted a new trail through the forested canyon.
Below you can see the first draft of what would eventually become the new Chambers Creek Canyon Trail:

Now, after nearly a decade of planning and several months of recent construction, the trail is ready for visitors. The city says it hopes hikers enjoy this new option.
