LAKEWOOD, WA — Pierce County voters should be checking their mailboxes over the coming weeks for new voter registration cards.

Following the 2020 census, several Pierce County districts had their boundaries shifted or adjusted to meet the county's changing demographics, and as a result some longtime voters may find themselves in new districts entirely.

To clear up any confusion and make sure each voter is well-informed, county officials are sending new voter registration cards to all 551,318 registered voters in Pierce County. The cards show the voter's current congressional, legislative, and county council district assignments.

The cards are not needed to vote, they only exist to keep voters informed.

If you receive a card and notice something's amiss, the county says to contact Elections at 253-798-VOTE (8683) or Elections@PierceCountyWa.gov.
