• Judge rules BRIC program cut unlawfully (chinookobserver.com) — Long Beach’s planned tsunami evacuation tower behind Long Beach Elementary just got new life after a federal judge ruled the Trump administration unlawfully ended FEMA’s BRIC grant program. Because Long Beach qualifies as an economically disadvantaged rural community, the city would pay only 5% of the project cost if BRIC funding now moves forward, with FEMA and the state covering the rest.
