• Lynden City Council adopts updated Comprehensive Plan (lyndentribune.com) — Lynden City Council has unanimously adopted an updated Comprehensive Plan that will guide city goals and growth decisions for the next 20 years, meeting the state’s Dec. 31 deadline. Council also approved contracting with Blaine for part-time building services and updated the city’s unified fee schedule, including school, transportation, and parks impact fees that will affect future development costs.
   

• Mary Shedden ‘May' Kennedy (lyndentribune.com) — Lynden residents are mourning Mary (May) Kennedy, who passed away at her Lynden home on Nov. 14, surrounded by family. Born in Glasgow and later settling in Ferndale and then retiring in Lynden, she was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and community service through the Daughters of the British Empire, and will be remembered in a private family gathering.
   

• Ella Thompson of Camas, Gracie Jacoby of Prairie lead locals on all-state volleyball teams selected by state coaches (theolympian.com) — Lynden volleyball fans can celebrate as Lynden’s Finley Parcher earns 2A player of the year and coach Chris Elsner is named coach of the year, with Lynden and Lynden Christian athletes featured across all-state teams. The statewide coaches’ list highlights standout players in every classification, including several from nearby Whatcom County schools.
