The Mercer Island Reporter announced memorial services will be held for Mercer Island boys head soccer coach Steve Newman at Mercer Island Presbyterian Church on Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. Newman passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 12. According to the announcement, the family provided the following statement to the newspaper: "Longtime Eastside resident, loving brother to Nick, Judy and Val, uncle to 7, world traveler, and adored MIHS boys soccer coach for 15 years, died suddenly Oct. 12, 2012, peacefully at home."
