Let's Talk About It: Making Sense of the American Civil War

The Mercer Island Library will host a free five-part reading and discussion series.

In commemoration of the Civil War sesquicentennial, the series encourages you to consider the legacy of the Civil War and Emancipation. The discussions will focus on three books:

• March by Geraldine Brooks
• Crossroads of Freedom: Antietam by James McPherson
• America’s War: Talking About the Civil War and Emancipation on Their 150th Anniversaries edited by Edward L. Ayers

Each discussion will be led by our project scholar, Dr. Lorraine McConaghy, Public Historian from the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI).
