Editor: As to the now threatened South End Fire Station, the original architect was Roderick G. Parr, 210 Boyd Bldg., Mercer Island. The 1984 expansion and remodel architects were Ridenour &amp; Cochran AIA.   These were all first rate practicing architects, I knew them all. Their work was very professional, undoubtedly restrained a bit by budgets as we were then — and should be now.   Preserving what we have should be important to us — long-timers and those newly arrived.
