Police Blotter: Woman Attacked by Labradoodle in Mercerwood

A 51-year-old Mercerwood woman was walking her black poodle, "Mikey" June 21 at 7:43 p.m. when they were attacked by a tan Labradoodle that had left its yard on the 4100 block of 93rd Avenue SE.

The poodle suffered a wound to the left side of its rear hip and the woman suffered puncture wounds and cuts as she tried to protect her dog.

The Labradoodle was uninjured and was taken back home.

Renton Woman Arrested on I-90 for DWLS
A police patrol checking vehicle registrations on Island Crest Way noticed a Silver Honda Civic entering eastbound I-90 was flagged for a suspended license. The 39-year-old Renton driver kept driving for 2 miles after the officer's lights were illuminated and sirens turned on until she pulled over. She was arrested on suspicion of driving on a suspended license, her vehicle towed and impounded, and was also cited for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Man Charged With Driver Inattention in Island Crest Way Crash
A Lexus RX330 SUV trying to turn onto westbound SE 47th Street from northbound Island Crest Way was struck from behind by a Chrysler 300 at approximately 35 miles per hour, causing significant damage to both vehicles. The Lexus was still operable and the owner of the vehicle drove the vehicle home under its own power. The driver of the Chrysler, a 62-year-old resident, said he didn't notice the vehicle was waiting to turn and suffered minor injuries to his right side. He was cited for driver inattention.

Rear Window Smashed by Teen Vandals With Toolbox
The rear window of a Toyota 4Runner was shattered by a toolbox thrown by an unknown person at 11 p.m. parked at a home on the 1600 block of 72nd Avenue SE. The window was damaged just after a group of teenage Bellevue residents were denied entrance to a party held at the residence.

Tools Valued at $1,200 Stolen from Shorewood Building Site
Miscellanious power tools were stolen from a locked storage unit on the 9000 block of East over the last 2 months, including saws, mechanical routers and a smoothing plane. There were no signs of forced entry in the burglary.

Valuable Serving Spoons Stolen From Family Silverware
A 57-year-old resident of a home on the 9100 block of SE 54th Street said two Gorham Colfax sterling silver spoons were missing. She suspected her son's ex-girlfriend, a 25-year-old Clyde Hill woman, had stolen the spoons while she was out of town. Her son said she opened a drawer and asked about the spoons while she was in the house.

Leaf Blower Lost on Mercer Island Street
A Kirkland man driving down the 8000 block of West Mercer Way lost an orange and gray leaf blower around 5 p.m. somewhere between the 8500 block and the 6000 block of West Mercer Way.

Hiking Gear Stolen From Unlocked Car in Open Garage
A 64-year-old resident of a home on the 7800 block of 81st Place SE reported his unlocked Honda CR-V was broken into overnight. A Black Diamond hiking pack and several clothing and hiking items packed inside was taken from the SUV in an unlocked garage.

Local Teens in Marijuana Bust at Island Crest Park
Five local teenagers in were detained at 12:02 a.m. for questioning when they were found in the park afterhours. A search of a 15-year-old's backpack turned up marijuana inside and upon questioning also turned over a film canister holding more marijuana. He was arrested, processed and later turned over to his parents. The parents of the other four 16-year-old teens — two girls and two boys — were contacted by police and later picked up from the park.
