State Patrol Seek Witnesses in Mercer Island Motorcyclist's Death
Mercer Island 23-year-old Timothy Richard Wettack was killed when his motorcycle went over a barrier on an I-5 off-ramp headed towards I-90 and Mercer Island.
The Washington State Patrol is searching for witnesses in the , according to a press release.
State Trooper Juli Startup said the WSP is still investigating the circumstances of the 23-year-old man's death. State Patrol received a report of a possible motorcycle collision on the southbound Interstate 5 ramp to eastbound Interstate 90 at 4 a.m. on the morning of the accident. A motorcycle was later located on ramp and its rider on the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 beneath the ramp. Wettack later died from his injuries. The exact time of the collision remains unknown.
The Washington State Patrol requests anyone who observed the motorcycle or other potential witnesses on the overpass or roadway beneath to contact Trooper Julie Startup at julie.startup@wsp.wa.gov or 425-401-7722.
