Tree Trimming on Island Crest Way

Maintenance work on trees near utility power lines along Island Crest Way has crews busy preparing for coming winter storms.

It's a sure sign that winter is on it's way.

Puget Sound Energy contractors are out on Island Crest Way this afternoon in Pioneer Park performing preventative mainenance on trees hanging over or near a primary power line. They wrapped up work around 3 p.m.

Northwest Landscape Services crews say they may continue work tree pruning work tomorrow on the busy thoroughfare. Windy winter storms can knock over trees and break large tree branches, and are frequently the cause of power outages on Mercer Island when they wall onto overhead power lines.
