• WA agency investigating police deadly force expanding to Pierce County (newsfromthestates.com) — State investigators who handle police deadly-force cases are expanding from western Washington into Pierce County next spring, with plans to later reach central Washington, including Okanogan as part of Region 5. The Office of Independent Investigations is still short-staffed and under budget pressure, which could slow how quickly Okanogan-area cases are handled by this independent team instead of local police.
