Peninsula Home Fund grant boosts teen meal programs at BG clubs (sequimgazette.com) — Port Angeles teens at the Boys & Girls Club’s Turner Unit are getting weekly family dinners, cooking lessons, and groceries thanks to a $10,000 Peninsula Home Fund grant. The fund, which has aided residents from Port Townsend to Port Angeles for decades, is now raising money for its 2025 grant cycle, with donations supporting nonprofits across Clallam and Jefferson counties.
   

2. Sequim, PA asked to pay more for Clallam criminal justice contracts (sequimgazette.com) — Port Angeles faces a steep proposed increase in what it pays Clallam County for criminal justice services, with a six‑month contract extension recommended while city leaders seek more detail on the cost jump. Sequim has already approved a temporary deal and plans a consultant review, while Port Angeles officials stress they must protect essential services and taxpayers before committing to higher long‑term payments.
   

3. Search for woman presumed missing in ONP shifts to new phase (myclallamcounty.com) — Port Angeles-area agencies are deeply involved as Olympic National Park shifts its search for missing hiker Alleacya “Angel” Boulia into a limited, clue-driven phase. Crews have scoured Sol Duc Valley trails and river corridors, but rangers now ask residents and visitors to share any tips that might help locate her, especially from around the Sol Duc Trailhead area.
   

4. Olympic National Park seeks input on design of new visitor center at Hurricane Ridge (myclallamcounty.com) — Port Angeles residents are invited to help shape the new Hurricane Ridge visitor center, replacing the lodge lost to fire in 2023. Olympic National Park will host a public listening session Jan. 14 at Field Arts and Events Hall, seeking ideas, questions, and old photos to guide the design and honor the original lodge.
   

5. Coast Guard Crew Offloads $203M in Cocaine (militaryspot.com) — A Coast Guard cutter based in Port Angeles has played a key role in seizing more than 27,000 pounds of cocaine, worth about $204 million, during recent operations in the Eastern Pacific. The USCGC Active’s crew helped stop three suspected smuggling vessels, part of a broader federal push to disrupt drug trafficking networks before narcotics reach U.S. communities.
