• Five-year plan to address Jefferson County homelessness (peninsuladailynews.com) — Port Townsend and Jefferson County officials have just adopted a five-year plan to tackle homelessness and affordable housing, outlining 48 specific action steps and new coordination with service providers. Local leaders warn that controversial federal funding changes could sharply limit support for low-barrier shelters and housing programs, even as residents urge the city to avoid harmful encampment sweeps and consider new housing tax options. 
• Rivals boys make statement in opening night win over Charles Wright (ptleader.com) — East Jefferson’s boys basketball team opened its season with a dominant 71–42 win over Charles Wright at Port Townsend High School, giving local fans plenty to cheer about. Forward Asher Little posted a double-double while teammates fueled a smothering defense that broke the game open in the third quarter, leaving the Rivals 1–0 and optimistic about their new system.
