1 Dead In Weekend South Hill Shooting

PUYALLUP, WA — Pierce County homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of a young man in South Hill over the weekend and are still working to identify a suspect. According to the sheriff's department, deputies were called to the scene of a shooting shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday on 90th Avenue East.

Officials said the victim's girlfriend called 911 to report her boyfriend had been shot and she ran from the home. Deputies and paramedics arrived to find the man, 19, with serious injuries, and officials said he died in the ambulance en route to the hospital.

Pierce County deputies worked with the Puyallup Police Department and a police K9 to set up a containment area and search for a suspect but were unable to find one.
