2002 Tacoma Cold Case: Detectives Seek New Tips In Deadly Shooting
Homicide detectives will share details Thursday on a new effort to solve the Thanksgiving 2002 shooting deaths of a young woman and child.

TACOMA, WA — A Tacoma homicide detective will speak with the media Thursday morning about the police department's latest effort to find the person or people responsible for the deaths of a young woman and boy killed during a Thanksgiving family gathering 20 years ago.
Kimberly Riley, 19, and Jeremy Britt-Bayinthavong, 5, were hit by gunfire while inside a home on South 75th Street just after 10 p.m. on Nov. 28, 2002. Two other people in the home were injured. Detectives have been unable to identify potential suspects in the years since and hope bringing the case back into the light will lead someone to come forward with a tip.
Investigators launched a similar effort in 2017 and told FOX 13 that close to two dozen people were inside the home when the shooting happened. Detectives said the shooter went up to the house and fired through the window, striking several victims inside.
