Horse Injured At Washington State Fair Dies
The horse shattered a bone in its leg while racing in a 4H competition on Friday night at the fair, according to the family.

PUYALLUP, WA — A horse who was injured during a 4H competition at the Washington State Fair on Friday has died. The horse Treis damaged a bone in his leg while pole racing, the horse's owners said.
Orting High School student Nicole Haggin was riding Treis on Friday when he twisted his cannon bone. The horse finished the race, but Haggin and her mother, Heidi, could see there was something seriously wrong.
"We called Tacoma Equine hospital to come out, and they found that he had run so hard for Nicole that he fractured his cannon bone. We were in hopes of a full recovery but then once he laid down from exhaustion and pain, it shattered," Heidi Haggin wrote on Treis' GoFundMe fundraiser page.
