Meet Exotic Animals at the Washington State Fair

Unique exhibit with animals from around the world showing Sept. 6-10 at the Washington State Fair.

Washingtonians are no strangers to wildlife of the Northwest, ranging from deer and bear to the occasional eagle. Now the Washington State Fair invites guests to get a glimpse of unique animals from all over the globe at the Animals of the World exhibit, displayed at the start of the Fair, Sept. 6-10. These dates differ from past years, when the exhibit was on display the last five days of the Fair.

The Animals of the World exhibit features unique breeds of animals every year, and this year includes the addition of the Kune Kune pig, a rare and friendly breed that originates from New Zealand.

Many of the favorites from last year will be present again, including Cream Draft Horses. This breed is the ONLY one to originate from the United States and is considered an endangered species. All other American breeds of horses were originally bred in other countries before being brought to the U.S.

Ornamental and game birds originating from various countries will also be in the exhibit to represent creatures of flight throughout the world. Other interesting animals on display at the exhibit will include:
