Pedestrian Hit, Killed On SR-7 In Late Night Spanaway Crash

Investigators say the victim stepped into the road and in front of a car, which didn't have time to stop.

SPANAWAY, WA — One person has died after they were hit by a car late Sunday night in the Spanaway area.

Washington State Patrol troopers first reported the incident just after 8:15 p.m., saying that a pedestrian had been hit and killed on State Route 7 near the intersection with 160th Street S.

All southbound lanes of SR-7 were closed as the Washington State Department of Transportation, Central Pierce Fire & Rescue, and WSP troopers are responded to secure and clear the scene.

According to investigators, the pedestrian stepped into the road and in front of the car, which was not able to stop in time. The road has since been reopened, and troopers are giving the condolences to the victim and their family.
