Puyallup Eligible For Discount Trees Through County Program
The program, which offers discount trees to Puyallup and Tacoma residents, aims to increase vegetation to reduce flooding risks.
PUYALLUP, WA — Looking to add a little more green to your yard? Well, here's an opportunity to do it on the cheap — and help your community at the same time!
Pierce County Planning & Public Works has teamed up with the Pierce County Conservation District for a massive urban tree sale. The sale offers discounts to residents of Puyallup, Tacoma, and unincorporated Pierce County.
Organizers say they're hoping to put extra trees out in the community and not just to make it prettier: the trees will help catch rainwater and slow runoff, which Planning & Public Works says will clean the water and reduce the risk of flooding.
