Puyallup To Host Public Stormwater Management Meeting
The city is updating its Stormwater Management Action Plan, and offering the public a chance to learn more and weigh in.
PUYALLUP, WA — The City of Puyallup has announced an upcoming virtual public meeting on several changes to the Stormwater Management Action Plan.
The Stormwater Management Action Plan details how the city manages and prioritizes local watersheds, and is designed to improve stormwater facilities and the local water quality.
“Essentially, it is a report card that tells us the condition of our water basins,” said City Senior Civil Engineer Paul Marrinan. “We use different kinds of modeling data to show us fish and aquatic habitat usage, land use and development impacts, water quality and hydraulic changes, and other factors that contribute to the overall health of our water basins.”

The City has finished the first phase of planning, and is hoping to get feedback from residents or help clarify any confusion. To that end, it will be hosting a public meeting on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 6 pm via Zoom. When it starts, anyone can hop in by clicking this link.
“We’ll use the data from the assessment to prioritize which receiving waters could benefit the most from stormwater best management practices,” said Marrinan. “At the meeting, we’ll talk more about this, give an overview of where we are with the Plan, and be available to answer questions from the public.”
