Puyallup’s Neil Van Lierop Named Daffodil Parade’s Community Grand Marshal
Tacoma Symphony Orchestra conductor Harvey Felder has been selected as the parade Grand Marshal.

The Daffodil Festival will be honoring two local men at the annual Daffodil Parade in April.
Tacoma Symphony Orchestra’s musical director Harvey Felder has been tapped as the Grand Marshal, according to The News Tribune. Neil Van Lierop of Van Lierop Bulb Farm and Gift Shop in Puyallup will serve as Community Grand Marshal.
Felder will be leaving the orchestra at the end of the 2013-14 season.

Meanwhile, Van Lierop Bulb Farm and Gift Shop announced in February that it would be closing shop at the end of May.
The parade, in its 80th year, will take place on Saturday, April 13. According to the festival website, there are more than 150 enteries and each float is decorated with fresh-cut daffodils.

Parade start times:
- Tacoma: 10:15 a.m.
- Puyallup: 12:45 p.m.
- Sumner: 2:30 p.m.
- Orting: 5 p.m.
