Puyallup Station Construction To Close Sidewalks Starting Tuesday

Sound Transit's says upcoming closures will impact pedestrians walking near the station. Here's what to expect.

PUYALLUP, WA — Like to walk around downtown Puyallup? Well, you might need to mix up your routine for a bit

As part of ongoing construction on the Puyallup Station parking lot, Sound Transit says crews will be closing sidewalks in the surrounding area this week. The work will also force drivers hoping to use the lot to make a few detours.

  • 5th Street NW's eastern sidewalk will be closed between the railroad tracks and Vancouver Door parking lot entrance.
  • The West Main parking lot entrance will be made one-way.
  • The sidewalk along the north side of West Main will be closed between 4th and 2nd Streets SW.
  • West Stewart's southern sidewalk will be closed along the length of the parking lot.

Closures and detours will remain in place 24/7 while crews work on the lot. The West Main and Stewart closures are expected to last roughly two weeks. The 5th Street sidewalk closure, however, will remain in place through early April, possibly longer.
