Traffic Light Malfunction May Cause Backups Near South Hill Mall

Police say to expect heavier traffic in southern Puyallup this afternoon as crews work to fix a malfunction at a major intersection.

PUYALLUP, WA — A traffic light malfunction is likely to cause extra backups in southern Puyallup Thursday afternoon.

According to the Puyallup Police Department, the traffic light as the intersection of S Meridian and 37th Avenue SE has broken down. That's near the South Hill Mall and is generally a pretty busy road for drivers.

Though repair crews have been called to fix the light, police say drivers should expect heavier traffic in the area through the evening commute, and possibly until 7 p.m. or later.
