Train Hits, Kills Pedestrian At Meridian Crossing

PUYALLUP, WA — One person has died after they were struck by a train in Puyallup late Tuesday evening.

According to the Puyallup Police Department, a pedestrian was fatally struck at the Meridian crossing just before 11 p.m. Drivers were advised to avoid the area for several hours, as roads nearby had to be intermittently closed for the ensuing investigation.

The victim's identity has not been released. No other injuries have been reported.
