Train Strikes Pedestrian In Puyallup, Police Responding
A train struck a pedestrian in downtown Puyallup Thursday morning, forcing several nearby road closures.

PUYALLUP, WA — A train struck a pedestrian in downtown Puyallup Thursday morning, according to an emergency update from the Puyallup Police Department.
Officers say the collision forced the train to make an emergency stop, blocking the track crossings on 5th, 7th and 12 Streets NW.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area for several hours midday while officers investigated. The tracks have since been cleared and traffic has resumed as normal.

Little else about the accident is unknown, though police reportedly did tell The News Tribune that the pedestrian had been killed. Patch will continue to follow this story and will update this page should more information become available.
