WA Weather Forecast: Enjoy The Sunshine While You Can
Wednesday brought an unseasonably warm, sunny day to Western Washington. Shame it won't be sticking around.
SEATTLE — It feels like it has been months since we've had a day as nice as Wednesday, with calm winds, warm temperatures, and uncharacteristically sunny skies. Too bad it can't last forever.

Meteorologists with the National Weather Service are calling Thursday "the day of change" because it will bring our sunny weather to a tragic end: replacing crisp clear skies with clouds as rainfall moves in from the coast throughout the day.
If that's not enough, the front carrying the rain has the potential to create thunderstorms, though the weather service warns that the chance of thunder is very slight and heavily dependent on temperature fluctuations throughout the day.

Those temperatures are the silver lining: despite the rain, Thursday will likely be even warmer than Wednesday, with some areas seeing temperatures in the low 60s. Overnight lows will also heat up from the upper 30s into the low-to-mid 40s.
Sadly, even that will pass quickly. Starting Friday and into the weekend, the winter weather will be pretty familiar to longtime Washingtonians: damp, dreary, and a little chilly. An unsettled weather pattern will help funnel moisture into the region, but showers will remain relatively mild.

Even if that sounds dull, there is one last thing to look forward to: longer days. Starting Friday, the sun will be setting at 6 p.m., and just nine days after that Western Washington will see its first 7 p.m. sunset of the year.
