Contribution of Youth in Northwest Cricket League

Northwest Cricket League Organizing Cricket Tournament for 2022

Evey year NWCL organizes a cricket tournament which includes One Day (40 Over) tournament starting from February to July and T20 (20 Over) tournament from August to October. This year 44 teams participated across 4 divisions in the One Day tournament and played 233 games. For the T20 tournament 54 teams played 280 games.

This year youth players contributed overwhelmingly to making these tournaments a remarkable success. We got to see excellent batting across many youth players where Mohit Soni (Tesla STEM High School), Ritvik Mohindru (Redmond High School), and Atharva Patwardhan (Redmond High School) played their best knocks and secured highest scoring batsmen.

One of the most consistent youth players throughout the league was Mohit Soni: scoring 2 hundreds alongside multiple fifties, averaging 40 runs per match, taking crucial catches, and helping his team reach the playoffs. In addition, the blockbuster youngster that scored the highest one-match score in the league, of 264 runs, was Ritvik Mohindru, a player with the ability to quickly score runs by cleanly striking the ball. Finally, Atharva Patwardhan, the technically sound 18-year-old, was a batting pillar for his team throughout the tournament, scoring a hundred and averaging 30 runs per match.

Centuries and Half Centuries coming in almost every match, these players were participating and making their teams not only win, but also creating an amazing game environment. It generated great enthusiasm for cricket fans and these youth are becoming inspiration for all the young talent being developed in the USA.

Many clubs were extremely impressed by the performances of these youth players and are excited to recruit more youth players (15-18 Years) in their teams going forward.
