County Holding Open House to Discuss Unincorporated Community Service Areas

The event will be held at the Woodinville Library next week.

Following the withdrawal of its stipend support of Unincorporated Area Councils in 2011, King County will be holding a series of informational open houses to discuss new Community Service Area boundary alternatives.

The next open house will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 29, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the .

The county says that the new community service areas will cover all of unincorporated King County and will serve as the foundation for residents, businesses and organizations to have access to county programs and services, along with participation and engagement opportunities.

Some are sad to see the existing Unincorporated Area Councils lose their support.

"Some of these UACs have a long record of representing their communities in dealing with County issues," said Nancy Stafford, president of the Upper Bear Creek Community Council.
