Skouras scores nine to lead MI past Overlake in girls lacrosse
MERCER ISLAND—Elena Skouras scored nine goals to lead Mercer Island to a 21–9 season-opening girls' varsity high school lacrosse win over the Overlake School on Monday, March 12, at Mercer Island High School. The triple hat-trick was a career high performance for the Islander senior.

The Islanders scored 10 goals in the first to take a 10-4 lead into halftime. In the fourth, MI poured on another 11 goals.
Other top scoring Islanders include Dulc Moll and Tyler Sherper each with three goals. Overlake’s Zoe Pinczower also netted three goals.

Lake Sammamish runs past Klahowya in girls' lacrosse
SILVERDALE—Allison Clements scored six goals to lead Lake Sammamish to a 20–5 girls' high school lacrosse win to open the 2012 season at Central Kitsap Junior High School in Silverdale on Tuesday, March 13.
Lake Sammamish poured on 14 goals in the opening half before adding another six in the second to cruise to the win over a struggling Klahowya squad that graduated six seniors in 2011.
Klahowya’s Jenna Warne had three goals and Jessica Haga and Jacky Hennegan each had solo goals.

Jenness leads Overlake past Gig Harbor in boys' lacrosse
GIG HARBOR—Barrett Jenness hit four goals to lead Overlake to a 13–7 boys' high school lacrosse win over Gig Harbor on Friday, March 16, at Gig Harbor High School. The win was the second of the year for the Owls, while Harbor dropped its first, slipping to 2–1.
The Owls and Gig Harbor matched goal-for-goal in the first each tallying two each before Overlake broke the game open with four unanswered goals in the second. The Redmond school picked up in the second half adding another five to take an 11–5 lead into the final quarter. In the end both teams each added a pair in the fourth to round out the scoring.
Jenness, a junior attackman, added four ground balls in the win and combined with juniors Eric Risa and Kinori Rosnow for 33 ground balls to lead the Owl defense. Harbor’s Cody Olson had two goals, 3 assists and two ground balls in the loss.

Overlake boys drop Redmond, net early lax win
REDMOND—Barrett Jenness netted five goals as Overlake charged to its first boys' high school lacrosse win of the season with a 13 – 1 opening day win over rival Redmond on Wednesday, March 14 at The Overlake School.
Jenness contributed three assists and four ground balls in the win, while teammates Colton Umbger and Frost Cunningham each netted four goals. Owl goaltender Alan Kassis had three saves in the nets.

Jenness nets four goals as Overlake boys drop Port Angeles 12–5 in lacrosse
PORT ANGELES—Barrett Jenness scored four goals to lead Overlake to its third boys' high school lacrosse win of the season with a 12–5 defeat of Port Angeles, Saturday, March 17, at Storm King Soccer Fields in Port Angeles.
Overlake got to work right away, scoring three goals in the first 2:45 of the game and eventually built an 8–0 lead after the first.
A total of nine Owls scored in the win including Jenness who also had three assists and Eric Risa with a goal, four assists and 13 ground balls. Alan Kassis was solid in goal stopping 71 percent of PA’s shots. He finished the first three quarters with five saves before Ian Berude stepped in the mind the nets in the fourth.
Overlake (3-0-0) next faces Mt. Si (2-0-0), Wednesday, March 21, in a 5 p.m. start at the Overlake School in Redmond.

Pair of hat tricks leads Lakeside girls past Lake Sammamish in lacrosse
SEATTLE—Rebecca Long and Natalie Fox each connected for hat tricks to lead Lakeside to an 8–5 girls' high school lacrosse win over Lake Sammamish on Monday, March 19, at the Lakeside School in north Seattle.
The Lions roared in the first, finding the net for seven unanswered goals. But in the second, Lake Sammamish came charging back with five of their own.
For Lake Sammamish, Alexandra Johnson, a Woodinville High School sophomore, and Emily Sokol, an Inglemoor sophomore, each netted a pair of goals in the loss.
Lake Sammamish (1-1-0) next faces Holy Names (0-1-0) Friday, March 23, in a 6 p.m. start at Marymoor Park.
